Leadership Candidate Questions:

1. Tell us about your background.

Born and raised in Manhattan it was 1987 that I began my Real Estate career in the Commercial Management, Sales and Leasing part of the industry. In 2001 I invested in property in Asbury Park New Jersey, moved there that same year and quickly became a partner in a vibrant local Real Estate office.  I was the Broker of record for our Asbury Park office and oversaw all aspects of operation including management of 35+ salespeople. My wife’s Sister lives in Fort Myers with her family and we would visit often. My first trip to Sanibel & Captiva was in 2007. It was our hope to someday move to Florida to be close to family.  We finally made the move at the end of 2017 and we LOVE IT! I officially joined Pfeifer Realty Group January of 2018.

2. What do you consider to be the most important issue facing our industry today? 

It is my opinion that the rapid advancement of new technologies will continue to have significant impact on how Real Estate, as a whole, functions.  As such, I feel it is important to understand how best to implement and exploit these technologies in a proactive fashion.

3. In your opinion, what should the association emphasize during the next two years? 

It’s ongoing capacity to remain unique while providing top notch responsiveness and support for the active realtor.    

4. Describe your vision for the future of real estate

I foresee an environment where evermore informed consumers will expect faster service and elevated expertise.  Therefore, an educated and informed realtor, equipped with the proper tools, will thrive.    

5. Do you donate to RPAC? Do you believe that RPAC is helpful to our profession?  

Yes, I believe the political process to be important and RPAC should be supported.

6. Are you involved in community related activities? 

Yes, I volunteer on a regular basis at The Sanibel School.

7. Describe the most responsible leadership position you have ever held, including outside of the real estate profession.

I served on the Board and then was elected President of the Asbury Park NJ Chamber of Commerce Oct 2007 – Jun 2012.  The Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce acts as a liaison between, and advocate for the promotion of businesses, service organizations, religious groups, educational institutions and government agencies which hold membership. Our annual budget was approximately $200,000  

8. How are you prepared to handle priority conflicts between business and association responsibilities? 

I am well versed in this category and do not foresee an issue. 

9. Are you aware of, and willing, to make the commitment of time involved with serving in a Board position (attendance at board meetings, association functions and social events)?

10. Can you attend state and national meetings?

11. Are you on any committees at Florida Realtors® or NAR?

None

12. Do you wish to pursue leadership positions in our Association?

Yes

13. Can you support decisions and recommendations of the Board even when they may not necessarily coincide with your own views?

Yes

14. Do you believe the Association and MLS should remain independent of the other Associations and MLS in District 5?

Yes
